Australian Pacific Management & Training (APMT) successfully concluded its two-day Executive Assistant & Workplace Excellence Program, bringing together professionals from the aviation, education and training sectors for an intensive professional development workshop designed to strengthen workplace capability and organisational performance.

Held at the APMT Nadi Campus, the program attracted participants from ATS Fiji, CAAF Fiji, Korovuto College, Korovuto Primary School and APMT, creating a valuable opportunity for professionals from different industries to exchange ideas, share workplace experiences and learn from one another.

Recognising that executive assistants and administrative professionals now play a far broader role than traditional office administration, the workshop focused on practical skills that help participants support organisational success with greater confidence and efficiency.

Across the two days, participants explored a range of workplace topics including communication, customer service, workplace professionalism, business etiquette, emotional intelligence, time management, organisational planning, problem solving and the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve productivity. Every session was designed around practical workplace scenarios, allowing participants to immediately relate the learning to their own organisations.

One of the highlights of the program was a special keynote presentation by Professor Narendra Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Fiji. Drawing on decades of leadership experience, Professor Reddy spoke about ownership, integrity, customer service, accountability and the important role every employee plays in representing their organisation. His presentation added a valuable leadership perspective that complemented the practical focus of the workshop.

The dedicated Artificial Intelligence session generated considerable interest among participants. Many were being introduced to workplace AI for the first time and explored how emerging technologies can assist with report writing, email preparation, scheduling, research and other administrative tasks, enabling professionals to spend more time on higher-value responsibilities.

Throughout the workshop, participants actively engaged in discussions, workplace simulations, group activities and case studies, creating a collaborative learning environment that encouraged the sharing of ideas and practical solutions across industries. Initial feedback indicated a very high level of satisfaction with both the program content and its practical relevance.
