Australian Pacific Management and Training (APMT) is proud to have formally launched LARS (Life After Rugby & Sports), a new education, training, and career development initiative designed to support Fiji’s rugby players in building meaningful pathways beyond the game. The launch formed part of a landmark Fiji Rugby Union event officiated by the Hon. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, where three major initiatives were unveiled, including the Fiji Rakavi Foundation, the FRU–APMT partnership through LARS, and the Fiji Rugby Management System.
Developed by APMT under its Skills for Life and Employment initiative and supported by the Fiji Rugby Union, LARS aims to help aspiring, current, and former rugby players identify career opportunities, gain qualifications, and access education, training, and employment pathways that align with their interests and future goals. The program combines personal development, workplace readiness, mentoring, career guidance, and flexible learning options, allowing players to continue pursuing their sporting ambitions while preparing for life beyond rugby.
APMT acknowledges the leadership of Prime Minister Rabuka, whose long-standing vision for creating meaningful opportunities for rugby players helped inspire the concept behind LARS. The organisation also recognises the commitment of Fiji Rugby Union Chairman John Sanday, CEO Koli Sewabu, the FRU Board, and the wider rugby community for their support in shaping an initiative that places equal value on success beyond the field. Together, APMT and FRU are committed to creating practical pathways that help players build rewarding careers and sustainable futures during and after their rugby journey.
